In August TCT Broadband applied for the CoBank Sharing Success matching grant on behalf of the Council Grove Police Department. The grant, which was for the purchase of a Drone, with special thermal capabilities and training expenses, was awarded to the Council Grove Police Department in late September. CoBank and TCT Broadband each provided $5,000, for a total grant amount of $10,000. TCT worked with the Council Grove Area Foundation to provide pass through services for the funds.

“TCT has a long history of investing in our communities, and we will continue to support them into the future.” said TCT, C.E.O. Dale Jones. Council Grove Police Chief Shawn Wangerin, added, “This drone will allow us to acquire unique photographic evidence of crime scenes and help us improve our ability to respond to many different situations, including missing persons whether it be day or night thanks to the powerful thermal vision the drone is equipped with.”

TCT Broadband partnered with CoBank to finance a Fiber to the Premise Broadband project in Hillsboro. CoBank is one of the largest private providers of credit to the U.S. rural economy, delivering loans, leases and other financial services to agribusiness, rural infrastructure, and Farm Credit customers in all 50 states. The CoBank Sharing Success grant has contributed tens of millions of dollars to groups such as volunteer fire departments, local schools, and hunger relief programs.
