TCT and The Foundation for Rural Services (FRS) is happy to announce that Centre High School Senior, Allison Basore, daughter of Angela and Richard Basore of Burdick, has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship. The FRS College Scholarship Program awards one-time scholarships to students from rural America for their first year of college, university or vocational-technical school.
“The Foundation for Rural Service college scholarship winners have not only proven academic excellence—often despite a range of challenging circumstances in their lives—but have also shown an incredible commitment to their rural communities. FRS and our rural telecom partners are proud to support these exemplary students in their pursuit of higher education,” said FRS Executive Director Jessica Golden.
Allison will attend the Olin College of Engineering, in Needham, Massachusetts in the fall, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. When ask about her professional aspirations, and what she hopes to accomplish, she simply states, “I would like to one day help solve the world’s energy crisis.”
The FRS Scholarship is just one of the scholarships sponsored and supported by TCT each year.
